I thoroughly enjoyed this! Only discovered it existed recently so it was nice to discover something else Douglas Adams had written as I have devoured everything else he has written in a similar manner to a starving man on a desert island would behave if he suddenly discovered there was a MacDonalds near one of the beaches (and he was therefore the only customer)(apart from the staff). Lovely Adamsesque prose. I won’t reveal who I think the ‘entity’ is so I don’t have to press the ‘spoilers’ tag. (It’s only what I think anyway so it wouldn’t be much of a spoiler would it?
