The Greater Freedom: Life as a Middle Eastern Woman Outside the Stereotypes by Alya Mooro
2.0
Slightly disappointed by this read, it was highly anecdotal, and less informative than I imagined. It barely scratched the surface on a lot of issues, and glaringly lacked intersectionality throughout. Having read a few books on this topic I found I had nothing really to take from this. I would highly recommend 'It's Not About the Burqua' by Mariam Khan and 'Headscarves and Hymens' by Mona Eltahawy if you're looking for a read on feminism within Islam and the middle east, as they are both more comprehensive, analytical and intersectional.
