The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson
5.0
It was well past time for me to read this series, and I'm glad I did. It opened me up to Brandon Sanderson and his Cosmere, and I'm looking forward to reading Warbreaker, the Way of Kings, and more. I enjoyed reading this series, and I think that this last book lived up to the stakes and climax that the series has been building to.
A lot of the time I am somewhat disappointed in the finale book of a series. It can't live up to the hype, or doesn't meet the precedence set by the previous books. I think the ending of this book was very satisfactory. I still think I enjoyed The Final Empire the most of this trilogy, because I enjoyed the tropes, Kelsier, and the coming of age story more.
There was a lot going on in this book, especially in the last 150 pages. At some points it felt like constant and non-stop action, which, as someone who enjoys character-driven stories more was a little exhausting. I enjoyed this series, but I'm a little more excited to see how things fit together in the Cosmere as a whole.
