Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel

It's been a long time since I didn't want a book to end. So much so that I'm having a hard time picking the next audiobook. Unlike most dystopian stories where the causes are manmade, this novel is consistently humanist and, dare I say, hopeful. I keep replaying chapter 6, "An Incomplete List," which reads like a standalone poem. My favorite moments were characters collecting artifacts, either to reuse them for a different purpose or to keep them as pieces of memento, sentimental fidget toys. Maybe because I kept playing The Last of Us theme in my head, I would imagine the scavenging scenes like I was playing a video game playthrough. Honestly, this book could have been just a collection of these scavenging moments, and I'd still read it.
