Doctor Who: Twice Upon a Time by Paul Cornell
5.0
This is the audiobook read by Mark Gatiss. Mr Gatiss is a wonderful narrator, infusing a lot of depth into Mr Cornell’s words and managed to make them seem more profound and insightful than on the printed page, which is no mean feat. I’ve got to confess that I haven’t really enjoyed a lot of Cornell’s work - he seems to apply character moments where I don’t like them and often says things in a way that seems to be trying very hard to be more evocative than they need to be. As with other writers, this is my issue, not Mr Cornell’s. And it seems a pretty paltry complaint when I’ve gotten so much enjoyment out of this book. Finding out what happened to Bill and Nardole didn’t hurt, either.
