A Woman Is No Man by Etaf Rum

5.0

This book was heartbreaking, hopeful, and necessary. I don’t know that I’ve ever read a book like this before, from the perspectives of Palestinian and Palestinian-American women. I liked how the chapters bounced around, so we learn Isra’s story as Deya does. To me, the most prevalent theme was the tenacity of women, no matter their choices (or lack thereof). I highly recommend this book.
