The story is fine--sweet even.
The narration is. . . odd. Flora McDonald, is great with male voices, both British and Scottish, but her female voice is child-like and lispy, like a grown woman speaking baby talk. It makes all the female characters, even the matrons sound Cyndy-loo Who with a burr.
Why must so many narrators for romance fiction sound like infants? This is an adult genre, read and written by adults. Please give us adult female voices.
