If you know Russian and have any understanding of Slavic culture, the butchering of the language etc. would make you cringe (misgendering, mistranslating galore, and shoving several cultures in together as "Russian"). IF however, you don't have this knowledge, this would read like a titillating romance novel with great twists and adventure.
