I was recc'd this from a BookTok'er I hadn't seen before about "books to go into blind but check the TWs" and I was like huh this seems interesting, let's try it. Couldn't find them online, went for it anyway. The "warning" in the beginning is "may offend :)" like.. okay it's only 79 pages on my phone kindle app, how bad could it be? (tries real hard not to think about Tender is the Flesh)

Good lord, this was by far the stupidest book I've ever read. The pacing was atrocious. There are exactly zero (0) coherent sentences in this book. There are commas galore, and I'm pretty sure the author doesn't actually know what the point of a semi-colon is. The character interactions were incredibly cringey and forced, and there was no chemistry between anyone, anywhere, whatsoever.

There were spelling mistakes everywhere, but they were mostly homonyms (shear instead of sheer; rot instead of wrought; poll instead of pole). There were so many I had to start highlighting them, and there was one page with three in a row. Ridiculous. It seemed like the author dictated this into their phone, but like a really old phone with bad spell check and no programming for grammar. I'm all for queering your writing and experimenting with form/format/prose, but this was just bad.

The smut in this was plain awful. What I knew going in was "a lot of trauma and porn" but honestly it was just "traumatic porn." Reading about women from a man's perspective gag sorry I was saying that a man's GAG let's just say it was disgusting. I'm convinced it wasn't written by someone who identifies as a woman (from what I can tell from the author's minimal presence online).

I guess props for an interesting FMC backstory at the end (AT THE END) but I'd like the few hours it took me to read this back. I paid nothing for this (KU waddup) but I'd like a reimbursement for emotional damage and braincells lost, pls.
