Purity by Jonathan Franzen

took me a while to process reading this. the mother daughter relationship from the perspective of purity freaked me out a lot, due to relating to the feeling of etched similarities from proximity and being haunted by the expectations of a relationship.

the writing was beautiful and it was so engaging. i couldn't help but feel disturbed and uncomfortable, but i think that was kind of the point.
