The Tenant by Katrine Engberg
2.0
Summary: A young woman is found violently murdered in her Copenhagen apartment. A young man who also lives in the same building and is a friend of the young woman is murdered in a dramatic fashion. The landlady, Esther, is devastated by these deaths. Is it a coincidence that the murder bears a striking resemblance to the plot of the book Esther is writing and has shared within her literary circle? Or is something more sinister happening? The investigative duo of Jeppe and Worner feverishly try to get to the bottom of the strange murders.
Thoughts: I struggled through most of this novel. I find it difficult to DNF so I kept going and the last third of the book was better. However I didn’t enjoy the Jeppe/Worner team - they sniped at each other constantly which was annoying. The plot was convoluted and the motives for the murders just didn’t make sense to me or feel believable. It was not an enjoyable read for me.
