Bec is turning thirty and what's a better way to celebrate than being trapped on an island with your overly possessive rich boyfriend, your best friend, her ex plus the ex's husband who's also your boyfriend's best friend, your boyfriend's childhood friend who keeps hitting on him, a random nice guy coworker, and the guy your cheating on your boyfriend with - sounds like a blast. Now try dealing with all of that drama and toss in a psycho killer picking people off one by one and you've got the best birthday bash of all time.

There are no good guys in this book -all the characters are unlikeable, purposefully so - which almost makes you root for the killer. With secrets abound, everyone has something to hide and there's no one you can trust. The characters talk about secrets so much I was going crazy - most of the secrets were pretty predictable but the fact they wouldn't just spit it out was torture.

I feel like the book had a good concept but was just a touch too long. With some editing it would be a knockout novella. Was it an okay read, yes. Would I read it again, no, but as it was the author's debut I do look forward to seeing future work from her - there was definitely promise.
