Dominic and Alessandra might not be my favorite Ana Huang couple (that spot is saved for Bridget & Rhys, because I can’t resist a royal bodyguard romance 💖), but they were the one that felt the realest. Their love may have started off as a fairytale romance, with two young people so in love that sacrificing for and cherishing one another is still second nature. But after 10 years of marriage, they’ve lost the spark. Something so real, so feasible in every day life that it’s jarring to see it in what’s supposed to be a fluffy romance book.

Àle’s pain and loneliness is something that I think we can all relate to in some level, marriage or no. We all want to feel heard, supported, and valued, especially by our loved ones. The loss of that? Unbearable. Our girl deserved better. And thank GOD she put her foot down. Dom loves her. There’s no questioning that in my opinion, but he takes her for granted, as a sure thing, a fixture in his life. He’s stopped seeing her as woman, as a partner, as his WIFE.

If divorce and wooing her back, proving to her that he’s learned the value of communication and showing up for one another, is what he needed to shape up and make some lifestyle changes for her, then so BE IT! 😤

Watching these two fall back in love had me feeling such mushy, soft things. I don’t even wanna talk about it lmao. and the spice? It was perfectly timed, and still had that element of bittersweet tenderness that permeates this whole book. The library & art gallery scenes in particular
🤭 “this is awkward” y’all know what I mean!

Honestly I was skeptical but excited going into this. marriage in crisis/second chance romance aren’t usually tropes that I enjoy, but knowing it’s Ana, I was hoping she’d change mind & she absolutely did.

Initial Unhinged Thoughts:
I’m unwell. I need therapy after this book 🤧 I felt things I didn’t know that I, a single and unmarried woman, could feel 🥲😭

I cried actual tears, at several points, especially the last 90%. She really gave us no breathing room. Their devastating, emotional separation truly sets the tone for this. Dom WORKS for his girl back. I just -have a lot of feelings.
