Pepper always slays. I’ll put my full review on the last book in the trilogy, as per my usual.

This book starts off with a lot of imagery to set the stage, and because of the world building right at the start of the book, it started out a bit slow for me. However, I had full faith in Pepper to get me hooked, and of course when our two characters met, she got me! I’m diving into book 2 immediately.

This feels very much like a Beauty and the Beast retelling with a human trafficking theme, and I am here for it! This story deals with heavy topics (and I’m sure that book two will go even deeper), so please check your triggers. Pepper’s dark romances are not for those unsure if they can handle the content or not.
