Three Women by Lisa Taddeo
This was... confusing. I'm leaving this one without a rating, because not only does it feel wrong to rate other women's trauma and sexual experiences, but because I felt indifferent about the content and the way these stories were told. In a sense, I became genuinely attached to all three of these women throughout the course of the book. But I'm not sure I necessarily enjoyed reading it. Considering this book is barely 300 pages long, I don't think this should have taken me a month and a half to read. So many reviewers wrote that this was as suspenseful as any thriller, but I found myself dreading picking this up, and then wanting nothing more than to put it down when I was reading it. I felt wrong about DNFing this, so I stuck with it, but now I'm not sure whether that was the right choice. I wouldn't say that this is badly written or a bad analysis of these women, but it's certainly not one I enjoyed very much, which was disappointing.
