“Time is a funny thing. You can’t hold it, and you can’t see it. But, it marches on, content to give until you’re so full that you’re close to bursting.”

Pick this one up if you’re looking for a fast-paced pirates adventure romance with:
✨️ enemies- to-lovers,
✨️ grumpy x sunshine,
✨️ found family
✨️ forced proximity
✨️ touch-her-and-die

The plot was interesting, I got hooked into the story right from the first few chapters where the sexy morally grey Captain Devlin Cato will be introduced.
The easy-to-read writing style, loveable characters and short chapters makes my eyes glued to the pages and keep reading to know how it ends.

I really like Fenna’s character development throughout the story. She’s coming out of her comfort zone and finding her true self with Devlin and his crew.
I also like the secondary characters like the crew of the ship whose loyal and also kind enough to welcome Fenna to their circle.

As for the romance, at first Devlin and Fenna attraction to one another appear simply out of lust. But, it slowly change into something more. Over time, I began to like their relationship and the spicy moments are also well written.

While I like most part of the story, there are a few things I wished was more explored and explained.
The ending was also slightly rushed, I kinda wished there was an epilogue or something, nevertheless it was wrapped up quite nicely at the end.

Overall, this is a pretty good Flying Dutchman retelling story.
I enjoy my time reading this book and I would recommend picking up this standalone if you’re in the mood to read a pirate romance with a simple plot.
