The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood

3.0

What I really liked about this book was that it was centered around academia and shed light on the representation of women in STEM. I enjoyed the dynamic between Olive and Adam, and I really like that it never felt forced (even though it kind a was) or unnatural even though it was “fake”. The bit of conflict in the story was also a good addition, and definitely highlighted other important issues that can arise in academia.

What I didn’t really like was some of the cheesy moments, and the repeated reiteration of Adam’s looks. We got it the first 10 times, he’s good looking and tall. Olive really pissed me off at times too, but I understood her position based on her past. Some of the side characters also felt a little underwhelming and I feel like they could’ve been developed better.

Overall, it was a quick and cute read, and I look forward to seeing more from Ali Hazelwood.
