The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

Oof. This... was something.
So, to be fair, it was a very easy read. As in, VERY easy when you're expecting a work of literature. Not saying classic lit has to be a hard read, especially since this one is way more about the message than about literature, but still. Either way, story-wise I ate this up. Didn't like the gross explicit scenes but I get why they were there.
The problem is just that this whole thing is a huge strawman. For a very good indepth discussion of this, check out this review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/23503260#comment_list
But in short: you'd be very hardpressed to find any Christian who agrees with what happens in this book. We don't want this. Slippery slopes aren't always a fallacy, but only if the end result is something the side you're portraying would actually agree with.
