Meet Me Under the Ombu Tree by Santa Montefiore

4.0

Santa has never disappointed me before and she hasn't yet.

The story sets partly in England, partly in Argentina and you feel the atmosphere of both. We meet Sofia and her family and all the troubles it causes. Falling in love with a cousin, having his love child and being banned to another country to get rid of it. There were a few moments on which I wish she would've acted differently, as I would have but this isn't my story to write. It was a great love story but sadly between the wrong persons.
It broke my heart when she gave up Santiguito, but at the first mention of Javier I knew they were one and the same. Dominique had done what I hoped she had, bring him home.

I felt bad the story ended the way it did, part of me wanted to Sofia move her whole family to Argentina but that would probably have been the end of Sofia and David, while they were so good for each other.

On to the next!
