The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro

4.0

Just finished this! It’s my first Kazuo Ishiguro book and it’s not typically something I’d read but I really liked it! Makes me really excited to read Never Let Me Go by him, because it’s a dystopian novel vs this being a historical fiction.

There’s a very somber and peaceful tone throughout this book that gets disturbed by certain events and it all melded together really well. The last few pages are particularly valuable in the message they give. If nothing else, read those. Though, the story is definitely worth giving a go if you’re intrigued.
