Elizabeth the Queen: The Life of a Modern Monarch by Sally Bedell Smith

5.0

This book was one of the best I've read all year. Not only where Smith's interviews extensive to get a complete look at the "behind closed doors life of the queen" but there was also a great amount of time spent explaining the history and politics of Great Britain and the Commonwealth (which is great for those of us who do not live there nor are hugely educated in international politics). Not only would I recommend it to a friend, but I would probably read it again in 10 years. Going to seek out other biographies written by Smith.
