Blood Bonds by J. Bree

4.0

This series gets better and better!
Book two ended on a massive cliffhanger and I'm so glad I'm late to this party and get to binge read all of the books in the series.
It starts really strong with Oli and Kieran captured by the enemy and your heart starts pumping like crazy right away. I feel like this novel was more action packed then the previous ones and I liked it. I also truly enjoyed that Oli's relationship with her bonds was put to the test and that they all learned more about her time before she met them. How courageous and brave she has been for them finally gets out in gory details and it settles things down.
Slight spoiler... she bonds with two more of her men in this instalment, and I must confess I'm a bit disappointed with who the second was, although the bonding itself was quite kinky and satisfying. I was strongly rooting for someone else.
Nox is still the black sheep, but I feel like if he could resolve his issues, they could work things out.
Honestly, I am totally engrossed but the worldbuilding is a bit liking. Book 3 is done and the heart and motivation of the resistance is still shady. The politics are mentioned, but never really addressed. It's not stopping me from enjoying the story, and while over-description can be boring, I feel like the world is 'under-described' if I may say. If I had a checklist, it would be romance: Check, Spice: Check, Banter: Check, Action: Check, World-building: Needs a bit more polishing.
