(Writing this on stolen wurundjeri land) I could not recommend this book enough! It taught me so much about indigenous culture but more importantly the mourning that First Nations people have been doing since colonisation began. It’s certainly no “Milk and Honey” and as good as rupi kaur’s poetry is, this is a lot less whimsical and airy, it’s a lot more brutal, and to the point. This is such an important read particularly for white Australians like myself to become better ally’s to our First Nations people.
