I wanted to like this so bad. This book held SO MUCH potential with the world-building and the atmosphere and the characters and the action! but the pacing was all over the place and the timing and the stakes were just a mess and were giving me whiplash. I just needed to stop reading this before it through me into a year-long reading slump. Maybe I'll try again sometime.
