The Molecule of More: How a Single Chemical in Your Brain Drives Love, Sex, and Creativity--And Will Determine the Fate of the Human Race by Daniel Z. Lieberman, Michael E. Long
2.0
Dopamine is famous. But few understand it and this book will not fix that. Lieberman creates a false dichotomy where all behavior is either dopamine-driven or H&N-driven (H&N is a mix of other "here and now" neurotransmitters). So instead of busting the myth of dopamine as the cause of pleasure (rather than what motivates one to seek pleasure), it perpetuates the fame of dopamine and exaggerates and oversimplifies its role in behavior. And his method for exploring dopamine's role in behavior is by explaining dopamine's role in the results of many cliche studies on, for example, the trolley problem, endowment effect, or priming.
