Bring Up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel
4.0
I appreciated that this sequel was faster paced and covered a shorter time span than Wolf Hall. I really like Mantel's prose, the comedy and inevitability woven into Cromwell's interactions and interior commentary as the situation with Henry VIII gets darker. It's still a bit longer than I would prefer for the amount of plot covered, with plenty more detail than is strictly necessary, but the effort gone into it is admirable and makes for an immersive read.
