This is an Idea Book with no heart. And the problem with an idea book like this is that you can't discuss the novel in any interesting way without revealing

the 11th hour reveal that the girls are all robots,

but if you do the book is kind of pointless.

With this book, the reveal comes so late that it is barely a surprise and doesn't even matter, because they just set off into the world to figure out how to exist.

Supremely unsatisfying.
