2023 reread: okay I'm calling it, the movie is better than the book, and the book narrated by Rob Reiner is bottom of the pile. 4 stars down to 3.

Original review: Better than the movie? It's really good. Read it! There are some different elements, but it just serves to enrich the reading experience. It is put forth as an "edited copy" by William Goldman, the original being an extremely length Victo-Hugo-Esque drama by S. Morgenstern. Hence, there are a lot of Grandpa-and-boy-like interjections throughout. Very fun.
