“It’s almost time for you to leave this rusting cage of yours. To finally spread those glorious wings.”
“Don’t ask questions. Obey your orders. Respect your masters. But most of all, love no one.”
“Tell me who you belong to, Starling. Even if it’s a lie.”

The book sounded really interesting, and I liked the concept.

The book is told from one POV, the FMC Aella. I liked her as a main character. She seemed strong and fierce with an interesting background. I would love to learn more about her backstory. I can’t wait to see what happens to her in the future.

There were multiple interesting side characters that I liked and would love to learn more about.

The magic system seemed unique and something I would love to learn more about. However, there were times when I was a bit confused about the magic and different powers.

The pacing of the book was quite slow but got faster towards the end. I liked the writing style, but at the same time, I felt it was a bit too descriptive and detailed at times. Also, sometimes the plot “jumped” between chapters from one scene to a completely different one, and at times that made me feel a bit confused about what happened.

Overall, I enjoyed the book, especially towards the end, and I can’t wait to read what happens next.

I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.
