The Times I Knew I Was Gay by Eleanor Crewes

funny reflective medium-paced

3.5

I read this quite quickly, and don't remember all of it! But I liked the way Crewes' understanding of her identity didn't move in a straight line (pun intended) and that her coming out wasn't a binary before & after story. Her memoir felt more realistic for that, and diary-like in its emotional messiness, uncertainty, and complexity. It's good to be reminded of stories like this within the body of coming out and coming of age stories.
