Gyo by Junji Ito
5.0
Welp, this and Uzumaki are creeping their way into becoming comfort reads for me. The Shark flying out the window never fails to not make me laugh and the shock on Tadashi and Kaori's faces is absolutely brilliant and I'll never not be amused by the obligatory Fish in a bag that still chases after them a few chapters later. It's a riot.
_____________
I re-read this mostly because I finished No Longer Human which was a very sad book and I wanted to read something funny. Gyo has that in spades, and well upon re-reading it again oh boy was it a riot. And yes I still don't like Kaori.
My favourite moments in Gyo may have something to do with a vengeful Fish in a bag and a house wrecking Shark.
_________
To be clear it's a 4.5 rating, to be clear I would've given it 5 stars if Kaori wasn't such a hateful character. And why on earth Tadashi wanted to stay with Kaori, despite her being utterly horrible to him throughout the story. I was quite happy when the tables turned and well even in death she got jealous.
But Gyo did give me a few laughs though.
