The Likeness by Tana French
4.0
I didn't put this one down for very long at any stretch. I ignored housework, avoided cooking for the most part (unless you count pb&j's) and had that glassy eyed look when I was asked a question. I was perturbed by interruptions. The plot was compelling and the premise is unique. She tells you just enough to keep you turning that page, but you don't feel like she's taking advantage of you. There was one point in which I felt it was dragging a little, but she wrapped it up nicely and there was a reason for it. In my opinion, this is one of those stories that would make a good film or series. I think a BBC series of this would do quite nicely. It could possibly be better than the book, IF Ms. French is part of the process.
I did have a prior warning about the language (thanks @Anne Bogel). Quite a bit of F-bombs from these gritty Irish detectives, but absolutely no smut.
