The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Women by Kate Moore

2.0

I was really interested in reading this book, is so important to know this story and I would give it 5 stars but I couldn't get over Moore's writing, it's painfully filled with unnecessary details and information, I understand the importance of making a point to present these girls and women to the world as the people they were and not just random names on pages but I don't think excessively describing their features is the way to do it. So many scenes seem to be coming just from Moore's imagination and are filled with so much melodrama that the actual story doesnt need AT ALL. The real events were already traumatizing enough, I don't need more to feel it's weight.
Honestly, I skimmed a lot to finish this book as I was determined to know the whole story.
Overall I would recommend looking up any article about this on google than reading this book, unless you enjoy A LOT of filler.
