The premise is interesting and I enjoyed it. I was thinking about why this book as marked as slow paced. And I think it's because Stirling realized that the world adjusting and becoming Medieval after the Change would take time, so he took that time. But it didn't exactly pay off because I felt I was waiting but didn't believe the decisions being made that led to Medieval creations. Maybe I wasn't in the characters heads enough. Or maybe it's just hard to believe the characters had as much skill and knowledge as they did. But alas, the book did eventually pick up speed.
