King's Treasure
Oil Kings, Book 3
By: Marie Johnston
Narrated by: Felicity Munroe & Scott Rose
The third book of the Oil Kings has me completely falling in love with Xander! Savvy and Xander have a lot in common, though when they first met, they had no idea! Both from wealthy families, both striving for the approval of parents and feeling like they are less than their siblings, these kindred spirits find themselves married during a one-night stand in Vegas. And now the decisions have to be made. Stay married for Xander's trust fund? Live with Savvy's parents? Live for the happiness of others or find your own way? This story has so many great messages, and such strong family values. I love the Kings! It's great getting to visit with them again as we wait for Savvy and Xander to find their way. I love Savvy's mom; her sage advice is unexpected and amazing. Kendall continues to be an amazing match to Xander's dad, and the relationship evolution of Savvy and Xander makes this a fun and exciting listen. I love this series, so glad I found Marie Johnston and will be watching for more audio from her.
Felicity Munroe and Scott Rose enhance this story with their wonderful performance. Munroe creates Savvy with a feel of insecurity with a confidence that needs to be broken out. We can feel her frustration in her tone and nuance, making Savvy extremely easy to relate to. Rose too gives Xander that feel of insecurity and his wanderlust for seeing the world. His need for approval is evident in his voice, but he makes Xander seem more confident than he really is. Perfect for this character. Loved this team and enjoyed their narration.
