Opal is back to her best, and I think this might be my new favourite in the series so far.
Ingram is an absolute delight to read, you learn so much alongside him as he muddles his way through life. The heartbreak in the beginning is traumatic, and it was the bit that took me the longest to get through. I don’t do well with torture scenes apparently.
However, Ingrams and Emerie’s relationship developed so naturally, I just adored it. You can really tell Opal poured her own soul into this book. It’s beautiful.
