Alosa, Daughter of the Pirate King has been kidnapped by an enemy ship. Little do they know, she planned this, hoping to find a map that will lead her father to an ancient treasure trove. In order to seem weak, she must hide her true abilities from the crew.
Tricia Levenseller is and will always be one of my favourite authors, that woman can WRITE a compelling story, let me tell you. I can officially say I love a good sword fight... I think pirates may be my new love... and give me bad ass female pirates??? Baby I'm sold. I am OBSESSED with Alosa, she may be one of my new favourite characters. She is so witty, smart and fierce. I loved how sassy, head strong and stubborn she was. I loved the enemies to lovers trope in this. Riden was such an intriguing character, and I love how loyal he was. The banter between these two was so funny, and I loved seeing their relationship grow and develop as the story progressed. I thought the pacing was really well done, and I was never bored while reading. I was fully invested in where the story was going.
I'm really hoping we get more of Alosa's all female crew in the next book! I need to get my hands on the second book ASAP.
