Review: Dark. Deceitful & Wicked. Taboo. Sin Like The Devil was another terrific romance from J. Rose! Ripley’s story was unique and twisted from the beginning and I was riveted while reading her story! What made her story unique was how events in this book were from her recalling her memories of being in Harrowdean Manor and not in live time within the universe. J. Rose was able to unfold all the twists and turns for maximum impact while also hinting at the devastation Ripley had after breaking free.

This book is one of the darkest I have read so far from this author and Ripley was not a likable FMC at first. I found her history as the β€œqueen bee” to be fascinating since she had the morals to know she was in the wrong but was not in the mind to care enough to resist the benefits it gave her. The way her story was told in this book gut-punched me really hard as her past unfolds and we meet the guys who end up supporting her since it is assumed they were lost to events occurring during the break out. J. Rose blew my mind with how Ripley and her men fit together in this book and the wickedness they each had almost played off the other for a super twisted tale of romance and deception.

Lennox, Xander and Raine may be my favorite guys to date from J. Rose and the codependency between them was almost next level! I enjoyed how they disrupted Ripley existence and provided just enough animosity, tension and angst to propel the relationship forward while also strengthening the plot of the book. An area I found interesting was how supportive the three of them were with each other and I cannot wait for more of their POVS to come. The mystery surrounding them at the end of this book also left me in shreds since I was not ready for how it all goes down during the final events in this book but once again J. Rose provided us just enough to get to book 2.

Sin Like The Devil coincided with the timelines of her prior series at different points and piecing together the events was part of why this book was so engaging. Seeing how each facility began their demise was a huge part of the book and J. Rose was really able to create the damage that had on these characters in shocking ways. The deceptions that were uncovered in this book left me anxious for how the finale will tie in all her previous series and excited for who we may see turn up for Ripley at the end!

Rating: 100+, Sin Like The Devil was a gut-wrenching dark romance that tore my heart out and left me hanging on for the conclusion!
