Somebody referred to the tone of this book as Jennifer's Body meets The Craft, and I have to say that is absolutely spot on. I would also dare to add that there are hints of the darker parts of Practical Magic sprinkled in throughout the enthralling, deeply atmospheric, and chilling story Castro tells through the eyes of Fernanda, Lourdes, Ana, and Pauline. It's a great, quick read that manages to address some horrifying realities young women face while also focusing on a young woman coming into her power.
