Alexis - a wealthy doctor in the city - and Daniel - a carpenter in a small town - cross paths when her car ends up in a ditch. Their chemistry is undeniable but it's only a one night stand. Or is it? A few days then weekends spent together help Alexis start to discover what's really important to her, and what is missing from her so-called perfect life.
This had Hallmark holiday movie vibes, I liked the slightly older female lead and the less than perfect world she has been living in.
Some of the secondary characters, particularly Alexis' friends, felt flat and two dimensional, and honestly, even pre-Daniel I struggled to see how Alexis didn't see right through them. But the Virgin River vibe of Daniel's home town was great.
Not the first Abby Jimenez book I've read, but definitely my favourite. Not a genre I actively seek out, but I'd read her again
