Amor de Perdição by Camilo Castelo Branco
2.0
This wasn't my cup of tea at all. I would've dnf'd it if it weren't for school. The characters are wayyyyy too dramatic, the plot is kind of predictable and I wasn't invested in anything.
I'm glad I read it because now I know I should stay away from Camilo's writing, at least for now.
In the end, I didn't hate it, but reading it was a boring chore.
I felt bad for Mariana, though, because she deserved a lot better than THAT, but at times I also got fed up with her.
There's just a lot to unpack here and I have neither the time nor the patience to get into every little thing I didn't like about this book, so I'll just end this review here. I'm not going to say I'm never reading another one of Camilo's books again, but I definitely won't pick any of them up anytime soon.
