“You and I already carry strange magic. We're the very things the book warns against, Miss Spindle.”
I'm really freaking out right now because what the fuck did I just read and more importantly WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT ENDING ??????
it's been so long I've enjoyed a fantasy book but this story brought me back to life! I feel young again since I truly used to love fantasy back when I was a teenager, I could almost cry lol.
this book was everything I've expected, maybe a little less detailed than I prefer but nevertheless, I truly enjoyed it.
it's so complete! not a single thing explained, not brushed off, everything has a clear and thoughtful explanation, which seems dumb but you would be surprised by how many fantasy books are just so empty and lack development of many sorts, but here it doesn't happen. sure, there's thing that aren't completely resolved or talk about it in detail but it's pretty good and strong? firm? for a first book.
every character has its thing, they're so complex and fun to read, even the romance has its moments without completely forget the main plot. I liked every one of them and just want them to be happy with honestly it scares me by knowing that apparently too much to ask hahan't.
I can't wait to read the second book but at the same time I don't want to let go of the story just yet.
good plot, good magical system, good characters, good development and turns–im having the time of my life here.
