In all my years of reading romances ( and thats A LOT of years), I can honestly say I’ve never read a romance like this one. It’s a story that feels uniquely modern even though it really isn’t at all. I highly appreciate the ties to the authors’ mother. While I don’t think I’d say this book was perfect and maybe is more of a 4.5 star read for me, any issues I have are overshadowed by the relevancy of the characters and the story. I’d love to see this story made into a movie!! With this only being her second book, I’m extremely onboard with the niche Hoang has made for herself in the genre.
