Hunter and Demi are officially my favorite Briar U couple. They were just so much fun and had such great chemistry together. I loved seeing them start a friendship and then eventually lead into something more.

I almost gave it 5 stars but there were a couple things that prevented me. I wish we’d gotten to see some of Hunter’s family life in a current day situation because we did get backstory and it would have been satisfying to see him (or Demi) stand up for himself and maybe cut ties with them if need be. On the other hand we got Demi’s parents but they kind of annoyed me. Her dad immediately hated Hunter just cause he was from a rich family and he wasn’t his precious boy Nico who cheated on his daughter with multiple woman but “can’t you find it in your heart to take him back?” I get this boy was like a son to you but he deeply hurt your daughter and you want her to just forgive that and look the other way?! And her fiery Latina mother didn’t put that to use when going up against her dad. She was ready to hate Hunter just cause he didn’t like him. She did come around and agree to make her own opinion of him but still. Also there was something that happened towards the end, and why realistic because people can hide things well, idk it felt kind of weird. Maybe I just needed more of a connection to the character or a better sense of them.
