The Queen's Gambit by Walter Tevis

5.0

I loved loved loved every single page of this book. This is the first big book, which I got to finish in just one day. I missed the world of chess and how astonished with Beth’s persona I truly was. Her path wasn’t easy, but that didn’t stop her from finding balance. I loved her development as a character - her finding a way to overcome her drug addiction and learning how to use her capacities and ambitions constructively. Her last game against Borgov with her friends by her side was phenomenal and the ending was so sentimental... I couldn't hold back the happy tears.
