Paul Newman: A Life by Shawn Levy

4.0

What a man, what a man! I'm a fan of biographies and this has been one of my favorites, so far. I learned so much about all of the facets that made Paul Newman that special person so many loved. Actor, husband, father, race car driver, business owner, philanthropist, director, and all-around good, human being. He had his faults definitely, could have been a more, present father but he loved his children and I was surprised he only had two grandchildren at the time the book was written.

Don't know that I have seen all of his movies, don't remember Cool Hand Luke or Hud, but loved his small part in one of my favorite movies, Message in a Bottle. His small one-liners and back-talk make me chuckle every time I watch it. So glad I read this and didn't find it tedious at all as it was full of so many interesting stories about his growing up, acting on Broadway, all his movies, starting Newman's Own,the Hole in the Wall camps for children plus good pictures. What a man, what a man! Highly recommend.
