This book was a very fast-paced book! We follow Goldie and the Barrett brothers. After the Barrett brothers lost their parents at a younger age, they fell into the cycle of revenge to get revenge on those who hurt their parents. They also became the sole provider for their younger sister Kit. When Kit forms a relationship with Goldie, the Barrett brothers decide to go off-grid and live in the mountains, but they also decide to take Goldie with them against her will.
Goldies quickly takes her role and becomes a part of the family. She cares for Kit and starts to fall for the brothers as well. From the first time they met, there was an instant attraction between Goldie and the brothers that they all tried to fight against.
There was a suspenseful element with the brothers' past and their enemies, but I didn't mind it. I almost wish the book was longer and we got to see more of all the characters. Everything was very fast-paced and I wished the author fleshed it out a bit more so that we could've formed a connection with the characters and seen how they formed their connections to each other. But I almost felt like we were thrown in the middle of it once they got to the mountain.
Overall, not a bad book and it was easy to read. I just wanted more.
