Sarum: The Novel of England by Edward Rutherfurd

5.0

This book was beautifully creative. I really, really enjoyed it! Its fascinating to see how the author weaves the history of England together through all of his colorful and fantastic characters. Plus, what an epic adventure to experience England from prehistoric times, through Stonehenge, Roman occupancy, Saxon and Norman invasions, the Crusades, the continual ebb and flow of different religions, Medieval times with knights and lords, to the Tudors, multiple attempts and successes of revolutions, world wars, and so much more. If you're a fan of historical fiction, then you will LOVE this book. I am planning a trip to England to see all of the places mentioned...well, hopefully!

There are a few drawbacks. First, it's pretty long, 900 pages or so. However, its completely worth the commitment. There are also a few slow parts, which you have to push through. Those might have just been from my inability to connect with those specific characters though.

Overall, I highly recommend this book!! Read It!
