The Sword of Reckoning: An A.L.P. Legacy Novel: Book 1 by Lea Schizas

I don't really know how to feel about this book, to be completely honest. I'm very conflicted.

The first introduction to Savannah was really cool when it came to badass female representation, but, on the other hand, some of the things she says feel way too theatrical and dramatic to make her feel real and connect with her as a reader. I'm also conflicted about Leonidas, as I don't know how to feel about him pursuing Savannah in a sexual manner when he is fully aware that she doesn't know who he truly is. If they were both just merely attracted to each other then it would be way easier to digest and it wouldn't have been an issue, I think. But with their background, it just felt wrong for him to pursue her like he did.

Regarding the writing style, however, it was all fine and dandy apart from one gripe I had consistently throughout. Sometimes it felt like the author was told to cut the word count and, as a result, she just took out lots of pronouns and other words that are, regularly deemed, 'ordinary'.
