The absolute utter delight I felt reading this was off the charts! I literally think I used the word "delightful" to describe this book to everyone I talked to about it because it just fits. The book's got a historical setting, enemies to lovers, snark, bickering, and banter that hits just right and makes you laugh out loud while also wanting to scream "you're so f-ing dumb, I goddamn love you" and "KISS HIM!" more than once.

Kit and Percy meet when Percy tries to hire Kit to rob someone. Kit's a retired highwayman who now runs a coffee house and is trying to lay low but somehow Lord Edward Percy manages to track him down. Kit isn't about that life anymore but Percy is persistent and so Kit reluctantly agrees to help Percy learn thievery himself even if he detests everything Percy and his family stand for. Even though the two despise each other, they have to work together to rob someone they both hate even more. Through all the fight training and whatnot their loathing of each other turns into something quite different but no less passionate.

I've never read Cat Sebastian before (that's about to change though) but one of my friends said the author's books often deal with class and social hierarchy and The Queer Principles of Kit Webb definitely went into some of that, too, which I really liked. The ending of the book shifted the focus slightly as it was setting up book two in the series and I'm now going to have to read that as soon as it's released.

This book is so much fun, and it's also got its really tender and deep moments, and two main characters I really enjoyed.
